1. Post Modernism in Media from dannybh
i found this video on postmodernism in media. It talks about atists such as David Bowie, Michael Jackson and Madonna and the ways in which they are postmodern. It talks aboutt what theorists such as Baudrillard and Jameson thought. It also describes elements of postmodernity such as hybridity, blurring of boundaries and bricolage.

I found a webiste which gives examples of postmodernism within tv and film. The wesbite has some video clips of the shows or music videos that include postmodern elements.

I have done some research into popular tv programme Family guy. The well known animated comedy ‘Family Guy’ holds great evidence of Postmodern media. The characters constantly make reference to other forms of media, being films, actors, characters or production companies. As the clip above shows, they mimic Starwars. Almost everyone has seen and understands Starwars and by creating an episode based around it, it appeals to more people and they hit a vaster target audience  But it is not just present in random episodes. Every single episode created has at least two references to Postmodern media.

4.  I found some pictures of postmodern Tv shows and Films

5.
The film is about Truman Burbank discovering that his life is not what it seems. That his world has certain routines. The way people walk, talk and the way they act. Soon he learnt that his life was a TV show for peoples amusement and he wants out. This movie is considered Postmodern because it has the character challenging the Director. That he does not want to be kept in a cage and wants to live his own life.

6. Tarantino's Pulp Fiction is well known for it's postmodern attributes including it's irregular narrative course and it's many intertexual references. Here are two points about the postmodernity found within the film:

The first example of postmodernism in the cult film is Tarantino's disregard for a chronological narrative. Instead he split the film into three stories, "Vincent
Vega and Marcellus Wallace's Wife", "The Gold Watch" and "The Bonnie Situation." This fits in with Lyotard's theory of the declining meta narratives over
time, along with the increase of "mini-narratives".

Not only does this follow Lyotard's theory but also one of Strinarti's five, confusion over time and space, as the audience have to think hard to work out where the narrative actually began if it were chronological. The demand for more audience participation is yet another example of postmodernism, as gone are the days where directors are simply presenting to a passive audience.

7. Although not considered a typical postemodern film, i think it includes some aspects of postmodernity:
Due to the shift in push and pull media, this aspect of the film makes it very post modern. 500 Days of Summer tries to break the conventions of traditional “RomCom” films through the use of the main woman protagonist being a “manic pixie dream girl” which is an immature woman, the ending not being “happy” as such and the couple realising they are not right for each other, but in turn find true happiness. This break of code conventions is also highly post modern; being new and fresh (the renaissance period that prompted post modernism – the era of change) Marc Webb, the director commented on how he perceives the film to be unconventional “most romantic comedies are more loyal to a formula than to emotional truth. I think the concept of manipulating time within the film and introducing each day with a plain slide, not only highlights the construction of the film but also adds something different to the film rather than the simple storyline of boy meets girl. Even if it is not seen as a movie classic, it cannot be denied that it is diverse and unique which is appealing and enjoyable.

8. Shaun of the Dead can be considered a postmodern film for the following reasons:
This film is considered postmodern for taking a complete twist on the Zombie genre, instead of having cool looking characters we have an average man who works at a electronic shop and his freeloading buddy who's a slob going their way to save the people they care about. The main characters even planned on how the two of them will pull off the big rescue and take everyone to a safe place, but it all blew up in their faces. The people slowly died one by one and they had to destroy the pub which they thought was safe, and all of this happened in one day. This movie is also a pastiche of classic Zombie horror films by referencing quotes from past Zombie films to how the the Zombies act and how to kill them. However even though there was a lot of chaos in the movie, the main characters still had fun with it, like killing the zombies, running them over to actually acting like them.
